What Image Are You Showing The World? Is It True?

"The Painted Face speaks of self-expression. It tells you to use your creativity in order to express your feelings, your talents, your desires. Expressing who and what you are at any given moment is healing as well as productive. As you change and grow you may feel the need to alter the way in which others perceive you. Changing your appearance, attitudes, and activities to match the new you may be called for at this time. 

The keynote is that this card asks you to open up and allow others to see your Medicine. In that way, you are offering a gift to others who may have need of your talents. Don't deny how you feel, what you think, or what you can offer the world. In truth and with grace it is now time to allow the Medicine of the Self to emerge. You will never lose face by presenting the true Self minus the self-importance."

It feels to me, this stirring deep desire to be authentic is always calling me. How do I place my wholeness on the page? How do I express myself publicly? What about social media? Am I showing who I really am?

At the moment I feel who I am is evolving a lot, I am always having to delve inward to discover who this 'Kelly' is. What face am I to show this world? 

I can be a bit of chameleon. I believe this is part of my make-up and is something I have had to do for safety and protection over the years when I felt shy and lacking in self-confidence, blending in to the background was my mode of being.

Now, things are changing. Instead I am starting more and more to show my whole self publicly. It seems I cannot be fake or be anything other than me. It is time to release the comfort blankets of the known, the safe, the shadows and step out and shine. 

Is self-importance a driving force?

I sure hope not, but I have no doubt, being a human, my ego gets in the way sometimes. This is a journey and one we cannot explore without being human. The human self has an identity, wants to matter, wants to be seen and wants to be heard. The authentic spirit needs to be expressed, but it needs to be balanced.
